If a parent does not frequent the sacrament of God's mercy as needed, the child will most likely find preparation to be an empty and awkward experience. They ultimately will mimic the example given by the parents (mostly because the parents are the child's only means of getting to the sacrament of God's mercy ...if the parents do not go, the child can not go).
With this said it is not that hard to set a good example for one's child. Confession is offered at St. Max 5 days a week:
- Tuesday before the 5:30pm Mass
- Wednesday before the 8:30am Mass
- Thursday before the 6:30am Mass
- Saturday before the 5pm Mass and on first Saturdays after the 9am Mass
- Sunday after the 8am Mass
We also have parishes near by that offer confession most days of the week as well. If you need some inspiration before you go to the sacrament of God's mercy please check out these video links

And when he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them,
“Receive the Holy Spirit. Whose sins you forgive are forgiven them, and whose sins you retain are retained.” John 20: 21-23
